David W. King

is a founder of the English Roots Law and has over thirty-five (35) years of experience. Mr. King received his undergraduate education from Bolton University and advanced degrees from SOAS University of London. He received his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law in 1980.

Mr. King began his legal career in Dallas, Texas in 1980, where he was an associate and later a partner with Shank, Irwin & Conant. His practice at the time included high-value asset and real estate transactions. Mr. King subsequently joined the, a national law firm with headquarters in New York City where he continued his real estate practice.

In 1988, Mr. King moved back to the UK where he joined Cavendish Legal Group Mr. King expanded his practice to include business formation, general counsel services, intellectual property litigation, and general litigation. Mr. King has considerable experience in a wide range of both contentious and non-contentious matters including; Housing and Landlord & Tenant, Professional Negligence, Debt Recovery, Contractual disputes, Negligence and Nuisance cases, Commercial and Residential Property disputes, and contentious probate and inheritance act claims. Mr. King has also successfully developed a specialism in Leasehold Reform work. He is able to represent you comprehensively from start to finish on hostile claims for lease extensions, or claims to purchase the freeholds (collective enfranchisement) of both flats under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 and houses under the Leasehold Reform Act 1967.
